Njiqahdda/Become The Sun (It Never Was)/EEE Recordings/2012 EP Review

Njiqahdda  are  a  band  from  Chicago,  Illinois  that  plays  a  primitive  and  melodic  from  of  post  black  metal     and  this  is  a  review  of  their  2012  ep  "Become  The  Sun  (It  Never  Was)"  which  was  released  by  EEE  Recordings.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  some  blast  beats  being  utilized  at  times,   ,  while  the  bass  playing  it  has  a  very  strong  and  powerful  sound  with  heavy  riffing  that  dominates  throughout  the  recording,  as  for  the  sound  effects  which  are  only  used  briefly  bring  a  very  dark  and  ritualistic  sound  to  the  ep.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  post  black  metal  riffs  that  combine  raw  and  primitive  sounding  elements  with  a  great  amount  of  melody  to  create  a  sound  of  their  own,  while  the  lead  guitars  are  very  dark  and  melodic  sounding  post  black  metal  guitar  solos  and  leads.

Vocals are  mostly  clean  singing  with a  brief  use  of  chanting  and  there  are  no  screams  or  growls  being  present  on  this  recording,  while  the  lyrics  cover  Vedic,  Nature,  Meditation  and  Transcendental  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  heavy,  raw  and  primitive sound  while  you  can  still  hear  all  of  the  musical  instruments  that  are  present  on  this  recording  with  a  couple  of  the  songs  being  very  long  and  epic  in  length.

In  my  opinion  Njiqahdda  are  a  very  great  sounding  primitive  and  melodic,  post  black  metal  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  musical  genre,  you  should  check out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Kali"  and  "A  Perfect  Mirror".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
